International Logistics Hub
Connectivity with Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA)
- Hong Kong has a comprehensive expressway network, including the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, the longest bridge-tunnel system sea crossing in the world, that connects with multiple boundary control points and links up the container terminals, airport and various logistics nodes, providing excellent connectivity with the GBA and thereby extending Hong Kong’s cargo hinterland thereto.
- Hong Kong’s world-class infrastructure also enables and supports various intermodal cargo transport modes. An example is the sea-air intermodal cargo transshipment mode between the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) Dongguan Logistics Park and HKIA, which allows pre-screened and palletised export cargo from the Mainland to be shipped seamlessly by sea to HKIA from Dongguan. Another example is “Kwai Yan Connect” (「葵鹽通」), “Chongqing-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Scheduled Rail-sea Service” (「渝深港圖定班列」) and “Chengdu-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Scheduled Rail-sea Service” (「蓉深港圖定班列」) for direct transshipment of cargo from the western part of the Mainland to Hong Kong via rail service to Shenzhen Yantian Port and feeder service between Hong Kong Kwai Tsing Container Terminals and Yantian Port, and then onwards to overseas destinations.
