Appointment to Hong Kong Logistics Development Council

The Government today (13 December) announced the appointment of members to the second term of the Hong Kong Logistics Development Council (LOGSCOUNCIL) for a period of one year with effect from 1 January 2003.

The LOGSCOUNCIL comprises 40 members, including 34 non-officials from the private sector and logistics-related organisations and six officials from the Government.

Formed in December 2001, the LOGSCOUNCIL is a committee with the task to implement directives from the Steering Committee on Logistics Development headed by the Financial Secretary on logistics development in Hong Kong. The LOGSCOUNCIL also serves as a forum for the public and private sectors to discuss and co-ordinate matters concerning the industry and to carry out joint projects.

The appointment of the LOGSCOUNCIL members was gazetted today. The membership list is as follows:
